Schuberts well known composition “Erlkönig” is a rapid and strong piece – and way too short for the complex plot of Goethes ballad. The team of the double CD “Noch:Schon – Musik an der Schwelle” chose this work to be the start of a creative process.
With the help of classical and jazz musicians and a performance artist, I was in charge to recompose Schuberts masterpiece. The characteristics of this recomposition are a conciously chosen dramaturgy, that features the plot as well as giving the audience time to develop their own interpretation.
